Dr. Sara Hurvitz is Associate Professor at the Division of Hematology-Oncology, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She is also Medical Director of the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center Clinical Research Unit, Co-Director of the Santa Monica-UCLA Outpatient Oncology Practices, and Director of the Breast Cancer Clinical Trials Program at UCLA.
Dr. Hurvitz obtained her medical degree at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, she completed her internal medicine residency at UCLA, where she served as Chief of Residents and then continued her hematology/oncology fellowship at UCLA as well.
She has personal interest in designing and implementing phase I and II (translational) breast cancer clinical trials, and particularly interested in the development and testing of new targeted therapies for the treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Hurvitz has been awarded with several research grants and awards and has served as Steering Committee member and Principal Investigator in several key breast cancer trials.
