Professor Wolfgang Eiermann is an internationally recognized expert in the treatment of breast cancer and gynecological oncology. While serving as director at the Frauenklinik vom Roten Kreuz in Munich, he established a nationally and internationally recognized centre for gynecological oncology alongside the general practice of obstetrics and gynecology. This centre has since become one of the largest breast cancer treatment centres in Germany.
In addition to his clinical work, he is active in developing new therapies for breast cancer. He has served as a research director and consultant for a variety of national and international studies on the optimization of breast cancer treatment. He has been involved in the clinical development of Herceptin — a revolutionary treatment for breast cancer — since 1995 and has been an innovator in intraoperative radiotherapy for breast cancers.
Professor Eiermann has been named one of Germany’s top physicians by the national magazine FOCUS several times, most recently in 2014. He is part of the Frauenklinik vom Roten Kreuz’s Interdisciplinary Oncology Center and offers medical cancer therapies and comprehensive treatment of all gynecological diseases, including surgeries at the neighbouring ISAR Klinikum. Professor Eiermann continues to serve as an oncology consultant for important pharmaceutical research companies.
